Attollo in Miami: Sun, Schools & New Horizons

(July 25, 2025) - This summer, Attollo Prep brought the heat in Miami, Florida. Known for its beaches, bold culture, and vibrant campuses, Miami offered the perfect backdrop for a college tour that blended education with exploration. Over the course of five days, our scholars experienced a powerful mix of academic visits, professional development, cultural immersion, and good old-fashioned fun. Each moment gave our students something valuable to take home and carry forward.

Day One: Beach, Baseball & Big Screens

We landed in Miami and wasted no time soaking it all in, literally! Scholars kicked things off with a relaxed beach day, enjoying the ocean, tanning, and swimming right along South Beach. It set the tone for what would be a full week of growth and good energy.

That evening, we headed to the Marlins vs. Padres game at LoanDepot Park. Not only did we get to watch the game live, but the stadium gave Attollo a shoutout on the big screen! Some even got to meet the team mascot, Billy the Marlin!

Day Two: Campuses & Golf Clubs

Day Two- We began the morning with a tour of the University of Miami, where scholars explored the beautiful lakeside campus and connected with the culture and academic energy of the school.

From there, we visited Florida International University (FIU) and were greeted by a familiar face. Our tour guide, Josh, remembered Attollo from our visit last year and brought the same great energy and insight. Students appreciated how FIU blended city life with a strong academic presence.

We ended the day at Topgolf, where some of our scholars turned out to be naturals on the green. Even those who didn’t take home the win had a great time cheering each other on. Topgolf gave us space to just be together, and for many, it was a highlight of the trip.

DayS Three + FOUR: Creative Tech, Campus Pride & Warm Welcomes

Our next stop was Lynn University, where scholars got hands-on with the school’s cutting-edge arts and technology spaces. One standout moment: using an LED wall to place ourselves in virtually any location in the world (or out of it).

After Lynn, we visited Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) the home campus of our staff member, Keren Chika. Scholars learned more about what it means to attend a school just one mile from the beach, and pictured what college could look like in a sunny, coastal setting.

The morning of day 4 began at Barry University, where we were greeted with a warm welcome party hosted just for our group. Students met admissions reps, explored campus, and felt the power of being seen and celebrated.

Ice Cream Break🍦🧸

While in West Palm Beach, we stopped at Sloan’s Ice Cream in Rosemary Square, where we cooled off with sweet treats and let loose in the playful fountains. That night, we also threw a pool party back at our villa, complete with hot dogs, burgers, music, and well earned relaxation.

Before our professional development dinner, scholars had the chance to explore Miami’s iconic Wynwood Walls! A vibrant outdoor museum filled with world-renowned street art. Students snapped photos in one of Miami’s most artistic neighborhoods. The visit offered an inspiring moment of the expression, culture, and stories that art can tell.

Professional Development Dinner

Later that night we gathered for our Professional Development Dinner. Our guest, an Attollo alum now thriving in South Florida. Sammy Liu shared her personal journey of transitioning from Lancaster to Miami. Her words resonated deeply, offering students a real-life blueprint for dreaming big and staying grounded.

Day Five: A Cultural Send-Off

Before heading to the airport, we made one final stop: Little Havana. Wandering through this cultural city, scholars took in the sights, sounds, and tastes of Cuban-American culture.

More Than a Tour

Our scholars walked through lecture halls, played in fountains, sat across from alumni, and imagined versions of themselves that felt reachable. College access means showing up in spaces where students can see themselves, and in Miami, we did just that!
